I show you how to squeeze pomegranate juice in this cooking school article. This is a guide on how to get the best juice from the apple.

I always make an event out of the pomegranate thing. My workflow always includes at least two apples on the shopping list.

I always use three of the four halves for juice and pick the pomegranate seeds from one half. This way, there is enough delicious and healthy juice for me and my sweetheart, and at the same time I have vitamin-rich red shimmering decorative balls for the whole week.

I hope you enjoy watching and reading it. Good luck in your kitchen!

1. Pressing pomegranate juice, the photo step by step guide

Please be careful when processing apples. Already when halving and then juicing, the red juice can spread uncontrolled red splashes in your kitchen and on your clothes.

Pomegranates are juicy and colourful. Get your clothes to safety and make some space for juicing!

Step 1:

Buy pomegranate and process as fresh as possible!

Step 2:

Use a small, sharp kitchen knife to cut in half. We chefs use a curved-blade paring knife or an office knife. A good cutting technique is: I hold the knife with two fingers about 5 mm in front of the end of the blade. This way I limit the length of the blade and only cut the skin from the apple. You could also take a carpet knife and set the desired length. But for me as a cook, that’s out of the question 🙂 I run the knife around the fruit once.

Squeezing a pomegranate
The halved pomegranate lies on the juicer for pressing. Now press well and squeeze the pomegranate juice from the seeds.

Step 3:

You can now place the fruit halves on the juicer and work out the juice by pressing and squeezing. In commercial use, a juice lever press has proven its worth. However, if you use all your strength against the pomegranate halves, you can also use a small juicer.

Step 4:

With this method, some seeds fall onto the sieve. Please press down a little with your fingers or store the kernels temporarily for decorative purposes.

Step 5:

Now pour the vitamin-rich juice into glasses and serve drizzled with some cold-pressed linseed oil, walnut oil or olive oil.
