The cooking time of the chicken legs depends on the size and the power of your oven. My chicken legs need about 30 minutes at 220°C, the oven is preheated. If you marinate the chicken legs with paprika or curry then please reduce the temperature to 180°C and pay attention to the browning of the chicken legs, reckon 5-10 minutes more cooking time. The chicken legs are always crispy when hot air is used and seasoned well with salt. Note that the oven is preheated, you can slightly increase the temperature towards the end of the cooking time to help the crisping process.

Chicken legs with fennel from the oven.

Ingredients

2 pc chicken drumsticks (chicken legs)
2 pc fennel (bulbs)
1 pinch chili dryed
1 pc clove of garlic
1 pc Lemon
5 tbs oliv oil
pinch Salt
pinch Pepper

Instruction

Preparation step 1

Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius hot air.

Preparation step 2

Place the chicken legs in a roaster, halve the fennel, remove the green and the stems.

Cut a few millimetres (the dry one) from the fennel root. Eighth the fennel, make sure that the fennel pieces hold together at the root.

Place the fennel pieces on the chicken legs, season all ingredients with salt, pepper and chilli, place the roaster in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.

Finely chop the garlic, add the juice of the lemon, season to taste with salt, pepper and chilli – mix with olive oil and place in a bowl to serve.

Arrange the fried chicken legs with the fennel, drizzle some gravy with it and serve with the prepared lemon and olive oil marinade.

7. Chefs Tipps

  • The cooking time of the chicken depends on the oven. Some stoves, especially older models, do not reach this temperature, then it takes a little longer.
  • When cutting the fennel I put the fennel green aside and use it later for decoration.
  • The fried fennel can be beautifully combined with leaf salads and diced tomatoes to make a colourful salad.
