Easter Info and Tradition

Where does the Easter Bunny actually come from and why does he bring the eggs? I would like to briefly explore this question here.

Easter is an ancient festival at the beginning of spring and at the same time a lunar festival. The timing is based on the lunar calendar.

Easter falls on the first Sunday following the full moon after the vernal equinox. For us, that is around 21 March. Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Scholars are not unanimous, but it is obvious that the word Easter derives from Ostara.

Ostara is the goddess of dawn, spring and rebirth. Easter eggs and the Easter bunny are symbols of Ostara. The egg as a symbol of rebirth especially in the colour red.
