The simple sweet potato recipe for the oven you will find in this article. The tasty root, unlike the potato, is not a tuber. You can use the roots similar to the distantly related potato for boiling, roasting, frying and baking or prepare a fine puree.

Wash Sweet Potatoes
Wash the sweet potatoes, dry them and get them ready on a cutting board.
Clean the roots, cut out unsightly parts with a knife.
I like to cut off the ends, then the columns are easier to eat later.
Preheat the oven at 200°C hot air alternatively bottom- top heat.
Cut the roots in half lengthwise, then quarter them or cut them into eighths, depending on their size.
The columns should be about the same size.
Place the sweet potato wedges on a baking sheet with baking paper.
Drizzle with olive oil.
Season with salt, pepper, chili or cayenne pepper, sugar and thyme.
Prepare Sweet Potatoes
Bake the sweet potato wedges in the oven for 35 minutes on the middle rack.
Mix the yogurt with the lemon juice, salt, pepper and sugar and arrange in a bowl.
Sprinkle with cayenne pepper, decorate with a few drops of olive oil.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds furikake.
Cream the butter in a small saucepan, brown slightly, then strain through a sieve.
Note: I usually have a larger amount of browned butter prepared in the refrigerator.
Sweet Potatoes Ready
When the cooking time is over, remove the baking tray from the oven.
Arrange and Serve
Arrange baked sweet potato wedges attractively on warm plates.
Serve the prepared dip separately or with it.
Decorate with cress.

Tip for cutting types of sweet potatoes:
You can cut splits, halved splits, diagonal slices or halves, giving the roots an individual look for the plate.
Wrapping the halved sweet potato root in aluminum foil is not absolutely necessary, because the skin is very stable.
