Ham Noodles Vegetarian, a Simple Pasta Dish

Today I show you my Vegetarian Ham Noodles Recipe. The food from childhood days, quickly prepared as a meat-free variant.
As a parent you have a maximum of 20-30 minutes to prepare a tasty and healthy meal according to the wishes of all family members.
Noodles are often the meal of choice for children and teenagers, although some are already in their “meat-free” phase.
It is also possible that you yourself, especially as a young person, are using your wings in the world and that “animal welfare” for you is not compensated by stroking your pet.
That is why I suggest a really good meal here, which will also taste good and give you strength.

Simple instructions for the preparation of vegetarian ham noodles.

|40||g||finely grated parmesan (or pecorino)|
Place a large pot with plenty of water on top and bring to the boil.
Salt the water for the noodles well – it should taste like sea water.
Add the spiral to the boiling water and cook until it is firm to the bite, about 6-10 minutes.
Stir once with a wooden spoon in between.
Pour the cooked pasta into a sieve and shake well.
Remove the smoked tofu from the pack and drain off any liquid.
Prepare the tofu in slices.
Then cut the tofu slices into fine strips with a knife.
Chop the red and yellow onion into strips and garlic.
Finely chop the parsley.
Fry the onion, garlic and tofu with a little olive oil in a hot pan.
Add chopped parsley at the end.
Quickly arrange the vegetarian ham pasta on warm plates, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle some parmesan.
If you like, add some Pesto Genovese as a supplement.
The pesto does not come on the plate in the original! I have added pesto to the dish and find it delicious. Just try a homemade pesto and enjoy it…

3. Tofu as an Ingredient for Vegetarian Ham Noodles
The central component of this recipe is tofu. Tofu is known to be made from soybeans. Our soy quark is obtained using a process similar to that used in cheese production.
Tofu is a low-calorie source of protein and therefore not only interesting for vegans and vegetarians. A diet can be supported by tofu. Intolerances to soya fortunately occur rather rarely.
Tofu is available in several varieties in Europe:
- Silk tofu: A particularly soft tofu that is good for desserts. You can use it to bake vegan cheesecakes, for example.
- White firm tofu: We know most of the western tofu with low moisture content. Asian tofu is softer and more fibrous. White tofu is generally rather tasteless and should be well seasoned or marinated with soy sauce before use.
- Smoked tofu: Due to the hot smoking process the tofu has lost a lot of water, so it is firm. Because of its spicy taste I like to use this tofu as a meat substitute. You can also eat smoked tofu as a sausage substitute on sandwiches.
Today we use the smoked tofu. The ham-like taste makes it a favourite for our ham noodles.
